How FAULTIVA works
Evidence, assumptions and limitations should be visible alongside the answer.
Observation before diagnosis
Guides separate user-observable signs from explanations that require professional assessment. Safe checks stay within external observations and maintenance permitted by the exact model manual.
Source applicability
We prefer manufacturer support documents, owner manuals, federal guidance and relevant primary research. Apply instructions to the exact model and configuration they cover. The access date records when the source was consulted.
Review before publication
Draft → Research → Fact Check → Editorial Review → Approved → Published. A reviewer must approve the exact saved revision. Imports enter research; a published guide keeps its approved version while a new revision is reviewed. The approved public version remains unchanged until another publication.
Transparent math
Repair comparison uses your quote minus confirmed coverage against full replacement cost. Ownership scenarios add entered upfront and annual costs over your chosen horizon. Quote comparison sums labor, parts and fees, subtracts confirmed fee credits and adds the actual entered tax amount. Energy converts power or consumption to kWh and multiplies by your rate. Budget planning adds your per-appliance allowances.
Scenario limitations
Future repairs, continued operation, utility rates, installation and warranty terms may differ. No tool invents local prices, remaining lifespan, failure probabilities, inflation or guaranteed savings. A single ratio does not determine whether repair is worthwhile.
Correction and review
Guides can receive correction requests, scheduled reviews, new revisions, unpublishing and archiving. A genuine review action creates its timestamp; dates are not refreshed to suggest work that did not occur.
